Tresi

Tresi · personal spend tracking

The Tresi bunny, sitting up with its ears raised

Spending, kept tidy.

Tresi sorts the transactions you have already made, finds the charge that paid for the receipt in your pocket, and tells you where your budget stands before the month gets away from you.

Itemised

What you get

  • Sync

    Your bank, on its own

Connect an account once through Plaid. New transactions show up on their own, usually within a second or two of your bank telling us about them.

  • Categories

    Sorting that learns

Tresi guesses a category, and when you correct it, that answer sticks for that merchant forever. Nothing you have confirmed is ever quietly overwritten later.

  • Receipts

    Photograph, then forget

Take a picture of a receipt. Tresi reads it on your phone and goes looking for the charge that paid for it. No typing, no manual matching.

  • Budgets

A heads up, not a lecture

Set a budget and Tresi tells you where you stand while you can still do something about it. Over budget is peach coloured, not red.

Voided

What it will never do

  • Move your money. Tresi is read-only by design. It cannot send a payment, freeze a card or touch a balance. There is nothing here worth stealing an account for.
  • Upload your receipt photos. The picture is read on the device that took it. Only the merchant, total, date and line items you confirm are ever uploaded. The photo itself never leaves your phone.
  • Send your transactions to someone else's AI. Categorisation runs on infrastructure we control, using models we host. No transaction is ever sent to a third party AI provider. That is a compliance simplification as much as a promise.
  • Sell your data, or track you across apps. No advertising, no data brokers, no cross app tracking SDKs. The business model is a subscription, so you are the customer rather than the inventory.
  • Make you feel bad about a coffee. Spending is not an error state, and the app never renders it as one. A money app that makes you feel judged is a money app you stop opening.

Sequence

How it works

  1. Connect a bank. Sign in with an emailed code, then link an account on Plaid's own hosted page. Your bank credentials go to Plaid, never through Tresi, and we never see them.
  2. Let it sort. Transactions arrive categorised. Anything Tresi is genuinely unsure about goes into a review queue instead of guessing, and clearing one is a single tap.
  3. Snap the paper ones. Photograph a receipt at the till. It gets read on the spot and attached to the charge that paid for it, whenever that charge arrives.
  4. Watch the month. Budgets update as things land, so you find out where you stand while there is still a month left to adjust.

Alternative

Or use it with no account at all

There is a second way to run Tresi: no email address, no server, nothing uploaded anywhere. Budgets, categories, rules, the review queue, receipt capture and receipt matching all still work, because all of them were already arithmetic your device was doing for itself.

What you genuinely give up, stated plainly on the screen that offers it: bank sync (Plaid needs a server, so transactions are typed in by hand), backup, and a second device. Nothing is uploaded, so nothing comes back.
